Sunday Brunch at Tiara - Meluha the Fern

Always thought to try out a Sunday Brunch but never managed to figure out what could be the best option in Mumbai.

After much research and reviews from friends we zeroed on Tiara's Sunday brunch at Melhua the Fern hotel at Powai.

Its a five star property in a coroprate hub, so most visitors are corporate honchos, clients, foreigners.

once you enter the lobby you get such a positive and welcoming vibes. Tables are spaced out very perfect in order to keep privacy for each diner.

Be it a big group or a couple or may be a lone diner, everyone gets a good privacy to dine peacefully on a lazy sunday.

I noticed everytime a visitor sat down, Chef Prashant and Mr Ramesh Gupta welcomes them with a smile and asks if they are allergic to any food to take special care.

Chef makes sure the food is customized then accordingly. They met us too, while Chef Prashant was happy to know about our food exploring hobby and dished out some special exclusive starters.

our attendant Pratik brought some bartender special cocktails too. One with Vodka based and the other Whiskey based, both were potent and wonderful.

Let me pen down what we had :

Appetizers (Special) :

1) Thrones of Chicken : Wow! What a presentation and the food actually tasted so delicious. Steamed chicken balls coated with long rice grains that looked like surreal. Very subtle in flavours of herbs, soft succulent chicken and very balanced texture.

2) Hare Pyaz ke Kabab : Mughlai Cuisine special Kebab by Chef. Minced meat kebabs so tender and juicy with perfect hint of indian spices. The mint chutney goes well with this, quite a tasty affair.

3) Cheese Poppers : Eat it when its piping hot! Very different style Chheese poppers served along side crispy noodles and fusion sauce. Presentation and taste is very different and goes well with your drinks.

4) Breaded fish : (I hope I wrote the name correctly) Very impressive fish appetizer served for us. outer crust is so crispy with the coating of breadcrumbs and once you bite the flavorful hot deep fried fish fillet you discover the soft luscious fish. I can go on and on with this one.

Buffet spread : What a sumptous and delightful spread it is! I cant even count the number of mains and desserts they have put. There is Live Grill, Pasta, Egg counter, Soups, Breads, Cheese counter where you get an elaborate options in every item.

I could only try from Live Grill Counter ; superb marinated Thai Chicken, Pesto Fish, Surmai fry were too delectable.

I was crazy to see a Big whole baked Surmai placed on buffet with sauteed veggies, fries, cherry tomatoes. Wow what a lovely option to have your share of favorite fish.

We were almost stuffed and could not go for mains since we had planned for a trip to dessertsland waiting for us at the end.

Desserts counter is a totally a visual treat! Almost 12-14 items on display making you confuse and helpless what to put on your plate and how to carry it to the table :D

Brulee, Coconut Barfi, Brownie, Gulab Jamun, Cheesecakes, pastries, Shrikhand, Baked Yoghurt, Baked Cheesecake, Chocolate and so on and on. I shamelessly put almost everything on plate and had an elephant walk to the table :D

Every single dessert option made us delighted with the perfect balanced sweetness that satisfying our big sweet tooth.

Ambiance : A 5 star hotel with such plush interiors. The lobby welcomes you with such a wonderful decor, smiling staff. High ceiling heights and cushy sofa sets long french windows giving you view of outside while you dine.

144 Rooms to house VIP and corporate guests is always buzzing with foreign clients.

Service : With top notch hospitality from Mr Ramesh Gupta who heads F & B section here is a pleasant personality who gives a personal touch to dinning experience. Chef Prashant discussing many things about the cuisine is totally a delightful experience. Pratik who attended our table was very knowledgable and very courteous.

I think I would rate this Sunday brunch in top 5 of Mumbai, I am yet to explore more on the Sunday brunch scenes.

overall a value for money deal for a 5 star property. I can certainly count on them when I have any guests or clients visiting from abroad and willing to dine in or have Sunday brunch.
